Cluster Director Prof Don MacElroy and PI Prof Han Vos, Co-Chairs of SmartSurfaces2012 are pictured in the Irish Independent (7th March 2012) with internationally renowned scientist Prof Dan Nocera, MIT Boston, during the Conference in Dublin. SmartSurfaces2012: From Light to Life was a unique 4-day international conference that brought together leading scientists and engineers from around the world to Dublin to discuss the latest advances in surfaces for application in solar energy and biosensor technologies. Professor Dan Nocera was listed in Time Magazine as one of the top 100 influential people in 2011 and Time also awarded his “artificial leaf” technology as the innovation of 2011. Prof Nocera gave the opening Plenary Lecture at the SmartSurfaces conference.
